Kelsey + Travis | A Rainy Wedding Day at Peacock Ridge

Let me start by saying: I LOVE THIS COUPLE.

I heard about Travis back when he was just “the cute co-worker” and have enjoyed watching their love story grow! Kelsey deserves such an amazing guy who thinks of her and does special, thoughtful things. I’m so happy to say she found that in Travis.

This sweet couple was going through a rough season of life when they got engaged so a little “announcement session” was just the perfect thing to bring some joy to kick off their wedding planning. When it warmed up, we spent an afternoon in Cleveland to capture their engagement photos. We met at Kelsey’s house, where Travis had built a tree swing after Kelsey told him about her childhood dream of having one. From there, we spent time at Lake Erie and the sweetest coffee shop!

Their big day started as a scorcher!! It was the hottest wedding day I’ve photographed so far, but the weather had so much more in store for us! One of my favorite moments was when they chose to share letters on opposite sides of a doorway, instead of seeing each other like a traditional first look.

The ceremony was so intimate and full of love and emotion. Kelsey and Travis chose their nearest and dearest to stand beside them on their wedding day. Remember when I mentioned how hot it was? Well, Mother Nature must have known how hot we all were and the ceremony finished just as it began to sprinkle! It created such fun photos throughout the day!!

Back to the bridal party… it was a PARTY. This group was full of joy, and was ready to celebrate with the awesome bride and groom! We took individual bridal party photos before the ceremony then full bridal party photos after the ceremony. We didn’t take too many full bridal party photos because we were totally getting rained on!

One of my favorite parts of any wedding is when the couple incorporates special pieces of their lives. Travis and Kelsey used her father’s old car as their getaway vehicle! And then, it was time to party! As a Zumba instructor, you know Kelsey has the moves. Travis surprised us by having some of his own. Some of the dancing photos are my favorite because you can see the happiness radiating from each of them.

Kelsey + Travis, I’m so happy that you found each other. You make such a great team, and I have loved watching you grow. Together, you two are capable of anything!
